Attend a Meeting

County Board meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday’s of most months starting at 7:00 p.m. (unless otherwise noted).  Current meeting dates can be found here.

Occasionally meetings will fall on holidays, in those situations, the meeting will be scheduled for a different Thursday.

Hybrid Meetings

Dane County hybrid meetings allow people to attend and participate in public meetings either in-person, virtually, or on the phone.

To attend a meeting virtually, register using the Zoom link available on the top of the agenda,  the agenda can be found on the County’s Legislative Information Center at https://dane.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx.  Upon completing the registration form an email confirmation with a link will be sent to the email that was used in the registration process.

If attending the meeting virtually and registered to speak or register in favor or opposition of an item on an agenda, virtual registrations need to be completed no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of the meeting. During the meeting, if you registered to speak, you will be called upon when it is your turn.  If you are joining by a computer or mobile device, you will receive a message that asks you to join the meeting as a panelist.  It is important to click join as panelist to be able to speak to the committee, board, commission, or task force.

To attend by phone, members of the public can use the toll-free phone numbers found on the top of the agenda along with the meeting code for the specific meeting  you are attending. If attending by phone and you have registered to speak 30 minutes prior to the start of the meeting,  you will be asked to unmute when it is your turn to provide comment.  In order to unmute on your phone, you need to press star six.

For members of the public that are attending the hybrid meeting in-person and wishing to provide public comment, it is STRONGLY recommended that you complete the registration process by using the link on the agenda at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the meeting.  If it is not possible to complete the registration in advance of the meeting, there will be paper registration forms available at the meeting.  When it is your turn to speak, you will be called upon to provide comment.

At the time of the meeting, click the link from the confirmation email to join.

The screens in the meeting rooms will show those attending virtually.  Members of the public attending in person will also be on a camera that will be visible to those attending virtually.

The hybrid meetings will be recorded to the extent possible and posted on the County’s Legislative Information Center within the days following the meeting.
